Farnsworth is also an ecological reserve where rare Purple Hydrocoral is protected, reflected by its presence all over Farnsworth Bank along with a healthy collection of red gorgonians and small colonies of strawberry anemones covering its rocky precipices to octopus, cowrie shells, nudibranchs, blacksmiths, torpedo rays and sheepshead living amongst the rocks.
